Weekend stuff

El fin de semana ha sido provechoso en lo que a ganchillo se refiere. En primer lugar he hecho una fundita para la tetera. Todo empezó porque me puse a hacer unos granny squares con lana sobrante y después no sabía que hacer con ellos. Finalmente, saqué la idea de la revista Crochet Today. Os dejo aquí el enlace para que veáis el original. 

Y por último, un gorrito para bebé para seguir añadiendo cositas al regalo para mi amiga. Saqué el patrón de aquí. 

Ahora estoy esperando a que me lleguen unas lanas para poder seguir con la mantita para bebé para mi amiga, será igual que la granny square gigante que ya os enseñé, pero con verde en lugar de rojo. A ver que tal se me da el tema de la ondulación esta vez...

Last weekend was quite productive in terms of crocheting. First, I made a tea cozy. It all started because I made some granny squares with some spare yarn and had to decide what to do with them. I found inspiration in Crochet Today magazine, here the original.

Last, I also made a newborn hat for my friend. I got the pattern here.

I'm now waiting for some yarn to arrive so that I can keep on working on my baby blanket, it's like the one I already showed you, the big granny square one, just changing the red for green. I'll keep you updated on my progress.

Owl baby blanket/doll

Mi mejor amiga va a tener un bebé y ya estoy manos a la obra haciendo todo un cargamento de cositas a ganchillo para regalarle cuando nazca. Este búho/manta me pareció genial en cuanto lo vi, sin ningún tipo de ojos ni botones, perfecto para achucharlo :)

My best friend is having a baby so I'm already making a lot of crochet things to give her when the baby arrives. This owl/baby blanket seemed perfect since it has no eye pieces or buttons of any kind, so it's just perfectly huggable :9

Giant Granny Square Baby Blanket

¡Por fin terminé la mantita para bebé tipo granny square gigante!. Era la primera que hacía de este tipo, y al poco de empezar empezó a hacer como ondulaciones, investigué un poco por internet y vi que es un mal común y que no hay una fórmula estándar para que no ocurra :(. De todas formas, intenté corregirlo un poco en las siguientes vueltas saltándome algunas de las cadenas entre los grupos de tres. Se corrigió un poco pero aún así quedo bastante ondulada, en cualquier caso me encanta y no creo que importe mucho la ondulación siendo una mantita, si fuera a colgarlo a lo mejor... Seguiré investigando para futuros proyectos.

I finally finished my giant granny square baby blanket! It came out a little wavy even though I try to correct the ondulation by skipping some of the chain stitches between the groups of three, I checked the internet and saw that it is a common situation and that there's not universal solution to it. I think it's lovely anyway and since I'm not planning on hanging it but to use it as a blanket I don't think it's that serious. I'll keep researching the matter for future projects.
